This bit of information is quite complex and it refers to ancient knowledge, collected before the Nova Datatio by J. Sams and D. Carson in "Medicine-Cards". [Note: Not sure, but I'm keen to discard the idea it was a collectible cards game]
I still have to investigate and I'm probably far away from understanding the real meaning of what I found, but for now I would say that every animal has some qualities which are exalted in its Spiritual Precursor or Totemic Animal.
